Today's walk was only nine miles, considerably less challenging than our previous days. We had sunshine with occasional gusty winds. We were more than ready for an easy day. Again the terrain was flat, a mix of road and meadow walking. We met a strange pair early in the day.
We passed several prosperous country estates where the grain harvesting was in full swing.
Signage was a mix of professional and improvised.
At lunch time we stopped at Longlands Farm where the owner had provided us a convenient park bench for lunch and a much needed rest. There we also met a curious donkey who was disappointed not to share our food.
The most frightening moment of the day was running across a dual carriageway (4-lane freeway) with a brief stop in the median to dodge the the oncoming lorries.
We arrived at the Elstavale, our B&B too early so we filled the time with a pint and a cappuccino at the Blue Bell Inn, our dinner stop for later that night.
Our room at the Elstavale was large with a stunning view of beautiful gardens. A lovely finish to the day.
